THE STORY

L'avion de Guy FROTTIER et Isidore ANDREI menait une patrouille de deux avions dans le cadre d'un entraînement au vol de groupe. L'exercice se terminait par un passage à basse altitude. Lors de la dislocation du groupe, l'A-24 254-748 fit un passage à très basse altitude mais une aile toucha le sol puis l'autre toucha un arbre. Vraisemblablement une perte de contrôle de l'appareil. L'avion descendit la pente d'un ravin jusqu'en bas. A 80 mètres de la première trace, le fuselage s'est séparé des ailes et s'est retourné, puis glissa sur 40 mètres pour finir par couper un poteau télégraphique. Le pilote fut retrouvé près du fuselage, le mécanicien près des ailes, malheureusement morts tous les deux. Les photos ci-dessous témoignent de la violence du crash. 
Guy FROTTIER and Isidore ANDREI's aircraft was leading a patrol of two aircrafts for a group flight training. The exercise ended with a flight at low altitude. When the group broke up, the A-24 254-748 made flew at very low altitude but one wing touched the ground then the other touched a tree. Presumably a loss of control of the aircraft. The aircraft descended the slope of a ravine to the bottom. At 80 meters from the first trace, the fuselage separated from the wings and overturned, then continued for 40 meters to end up cutting a telegraph pole. The pilot was found near the fuselage, the mechanic near the wings, both unfortunately dead. The photos below testify to the violence of the crash.

This photo shows that the plane appeared to have a cockade near the invasion stripes and not a Lorraine cross like the profile above.
